Just a bit about me

My photo
I'm a 20 years old, ready to graduate and pretty much just save the world. (But I'm not a hippie) I have a Chion (Chihuahua/Papillon) named Gambit. I'm young and make mistakes almost everyday, it's what I do. I have the tendency to be dramatic and temperamental but that's what makes me so interesting. I have very different views on Love and Life but it's what works for me. I'm also a huge believer in living life how it works for you, if you don't life is just not worth living.

Gambit's Diary

Before I start this, I just want to say I am not a crazy dog person. My dog, Gambit (yes! After the X-man), is just a huge part of my life. =) He's like my child (for a 20 year old college student, a dog is a child). Anyways, I adopted him from the pound on May 14, 2010, so he's still a puppy.
Gambit's Information
  • Adopted May 13, 2010
  • Born February 23, 2010 (Just guessing because he was about 12 weeks when I got him)
  • And he's a Chion!! (Papillion/Chiuaua)
Normally, I'm not a Chihuahua fan but whenever you mix another breed with it, that dog is the cutest thing in the world!

Being a puppy of course he's having some behavioral issues, such as; chewing, barking (even though it's not that loud), licking people's faces (which I blame my little brother), and not eating.
Luckily, he's partially potty trained, he has small accidents but he's still a puppy of course there will be accidents. He goes straight to the door if he really has to go, but if Gambit gets to lazy he'll end up peeing on the rug or something. Which gets incredibly annoying. The worst part is that I still go to college and onyy live with my mom during breaks, and of course living in a dorm we aren't allowed to have pets bigger than a beta fish… can you see where this is heading? I have no where to keep him! I'm trying to talk to my mom into letting him stay at her place by saying that he's getting better (which he is with out a doubt!). He doesn't even need a leash when we go on walks, even though I use a  leash because it's the law, Gambit just follows me.

Lately, I've been doing a lot a research about dogs; how to train them, what to feed them, and a bunch of other topics about pets. And all the experts keep saying that anything I try to do will end up with a dysfunctional pet. You can't leave them outside when you're at work because "dog are valuable and you wouldn't leave your child in the backyard". You can't leave them inside your home because "they'll get bored and destroy everything". What are you suppose to then? Get a babysitter? Heck no! I'm YEARS away from that stage of my life!

So what is an owner suppose to do?
